Not even 20 minutes had passed in Barcelona's La Liga opener at Athletic Bilbao on Sunday before the Catalan club picked up what looks like its first injury of the season.
After suffering an apparent groin injury following the quarter-hour mark, Dani Alves exited the pitch momentarily before continuing to play. However, the pain looked to have become too great moments later, and the Brazilian right-back was subsequently replaced.
Many were quick to question why Sergi Roberto, a midfielder, was the one to take the defender's place.
