Daniel Parejo extends contract with Valencia through 2020
Another player put pen to paper at the Mestalla Stadium on Friday, as Daniel Parejo extended his contract at Valencia through June 30, 2020.
Parejo's contract extension follows a phenomenal season in which he notched 11 goals and five assists through 34 La Liga appearances to help Valencia secure qualification for the Champions League.
"This is one the happiest days of my life," Parejo said. "This was what I wanted. Everybody knew this and I was always confident that we would reach an agreement. I have always said that there is no other club at which I could be happier. I feel very happy and I identify strongly with Valencianismo; all that remains is to thank the club and the fans for their faith in me."
Speaking of his vision for Valencia's new project, Parejo said: "We have a great team and we all identify with the Club. The project is more solid every day since Peter Lim has arrived and, with Nuno (Espirito Santo) as manager and the squad that we have, we can be optimistic about the future."
Alvaro Negredo joined Valencia permanently Thursday after spending last season on loan at the club from Manchester City, while 21-year-old Andre Gomes, 20-year-old Joao Cancelo, and 19-year-old Jose Gaya all signed long-term contracts in the last two months.
