Report: Juventus on verge of signing Sami Khedira on free transfer
Sami Khedira is on his way out of Real Madrid this summer, and it seems he has already settled on a new destination.
Multiple reports in Italy claim that the midfielder is on the verge of a move to Juventus, who are moving quickly to complete a free transfer for the 28-year-old after he confirmed last week that he will be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the World Cup-winner could arrive for a medical in Turin on either Tuesday or Wednesday, while Tuttosport adds that, should the medical examination go smoothly, the two sides will broker a three or four-year deal.
Khedira's injury history, of course, is the one thing that could put the kibosh on the deal.
The German midfielder has played sparingly since rupturing his ACL in November of 2013, with separate muscular injuries limiting him to just 11 league matches for Real Madrid this past season.
