VIDEO: Barcelona's Xavi leaves final Camp Nou match to standing ovation
The match came to a standstill when Xavi's number popped up on the substitution board.
It was the end of an era at the Camp Nou, as legendary midfielder Xavi is set to call time on his illustrious Barcelona playing career.
The esteemed player, who got the start for his final home match in front of adoring fans, came off to a roaring standing ovation with six minutes remaining as supporters applauded and chanted his name.
Xavi, always one to show very little emotion during the highs and lows of football, appeared to crack as he stepped off the Camp Nou pitch one last time, wiping away tears before taking a seat on the bench.
Even though Barca drew 2-2 with Deportivo La Coruna, Xavi and his teammates hoisted the Spanish league title. It was the Spanish international's eighth time being part of a La Liga-winning Barcelona squad.
He has two more matches remaining, as he and Barcelona attempt to complete the treble with the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals on the horizon.
