The overhaul of Barcelona's front office took another unexpected turn on Monday.
Just hours after the club announced the decision to fire director of football Andoni Zubizarreta, his former assistant relinquished his role at the Camp Nou.
Carles Puyol, the former captain and now club icon, took to his Facebook page to reveal that he has decided to step down as assistant sporting director after less than a year in the position, meaning that, for the time being, he will not be the one to replace Zubizarreta.
