Well, this isn't exactly what Barcelona supporters want to hear about their club's most recent signing.
One day after Thomas Vermaelen was officially introduced at the Camp Nou, the Catalan club announced that the Belgian defender will undergo physiotherapy for a right hamstring injury that was suffered at the World Cup.
At Monday's training session, Vermaelen did specific physiotherapy work away from the rest of his new teammates, and his presence in future training sessions will "depend on how his recovery progresses."
The 28-year-old passed his medical on Sunday, and it remains unclear whether or not Barca were aware of the injury upon paying a reported transfer fee of £15 million for his services.
