Report: United still hoping to sign Ander Herrera in January

After failing to secure his signature during the summer transfer window, Manchester United are reportedly preparing another bid for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera.

According to the Guardian, David Moyes hopes to land the 24-year-old with an offer of less than €36 million, which is the number outlined in his release clause.

The report notes that Herrera has struggled to find consistency in Spain this season, and that the United boss is hoping that will factor in to the asking price.

Herrera was the source of intense transfer speculation this past summer, before United and Bilbao failed to agree on a fee for the midfielder, leaving many to criticize Moyes over his inability to close the deal.
