Report: Barcelona, Juventus, PSG in 3-way race to sign Donnarumma
The race to recruit Gianluigi Donnarumma is already heating up.
Just days after AC Milan confirmed that the Italian goalkeeper will leave as a free agent this summer, Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain have all contacted his representative Mino Raiola about a potential deal, reports Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian.
Should Barcelona sign the 22-year-old star, incumbent starter Marc-Andre ter Stegen will reportedly remain at the Camp Nou; Barca's brass consider the German shot-stopper untouchable, Romano adds.
Juventus have long been viewed as potential suitors for Donnarumma, who has already inherited Italy's national starting role from his namesake, Gianluigi Buffon. Juve, who house several Raiola clients, would likely need to offload Wojciech Szczesny before sanctioning a deal for Donnarumma.
PSG also appear to be settled between the sticks, with Keylor Navas extending his contract until 2024 in April.
Donnarumma, an AC Milan academy graduate who made his senior debut with the club as a 16-year-old, has made over 200 appearances for the Rossoneri. He's set to backstop Italy at this summer's European Championship.
Milan moved quickly to acquire his replacement, signing Mike Maignan from Lille earlier this week.
