Hazard: Real Madrid supporters are more fanatical than English fans

After joining Real Madrid this summer, Eden Hazard says there's a noticeable difference in the way supporters of his new club behave compared to those back in England, where he's spent the majority of his career.

"I think that here the fans are really fans," Hazard said, according to ESPN.

"In England, there are not so many fans. People there like football and everyone - young people, adults, teenagers - are really interested in their football, but they are not so fanatical about their teams."

The Belgian superstar spent seven years with Chelsea in the Premier League before making his move to Los Blancos for €100 million (£88.5 million) plus add-ons.

"At the time I was in Chelsea and we lost, we were disappointed, as were the fans, but I never felt it was a disaster," Hazard added.

"When you are at Real Madrid, even if it is my first year, talking to the fans, they always expect you to win the Champions League."

Hazard will get his first taste of Champions League football in a Real Madrid shirt on Wednesday when his side visits Paris Saint-Germain.
