Eden Hazard admitted Thursday he may need to move to Spain to win the Ballon d'Or, but slammed the door on a potential January exit.

Hazard has spoken honestly with the media about his future, revealing earlier in the week that he's weighing whether he should stay long term at Chelsea or realize his childhood dream and join Real Madrid.

The Telegraph's Matt Law added Wednesday that Hazard isn't interested in playing for any club other than Chelsea or Madrid. The Blues have reportedly offered him a new contract worth £300,000 a week, but Hazard is apparently in no rush to make a decision.

However, with 11 of the last 13 Ballons d'Or awarded to La Liga players, Hazard acknowledged his pursuit of football's top individual honor as a reason he's considering relocating to Spain.

"That's why I want to go, maybe," he told reporters.

Asked if he would switch clubs in January, Hazard simply responded, "No."

The 27-year-old, who's enjoying some of the best football of his career under Maurizio Sarri, is also prepared to call himself the best player in the world.

"Yes," he said. "The team is helping me a lot also. I can improve for sure. We can always improve in football. We can score more goals, more assists."

Registering seven goals and three assists in his first eight appearances of the Premier League season, the Belgian international has thrived in Sarri's attack-minded system.

His current deal with Chelsea runs until June 2020.
