Since arriving at Manchester City from Valencia in 2010, David Silva has been widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and an integral part of the club's first team.

Now, the 32-year-old has revealed in an interview with BBC Sport's "The Premier League Show" that he is likely to leave the champions when his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in a little under two years.

"For City, two more seasons - what's left on my contract," he said.

"After that, I don't know. It depends how I feel physically and mentally. I've always said that I'd like to play for Las Palmas - my local team. But we'll see how things go in two years and take it all from there."

Silva grew up in Arguineguin, a coastal town on Gran Canaria. Las Palmas is the island's capital, and its football team is the most high-profile to hail from the Canary Islands, although it was relegated from La Liga to the Segunda Division last season.

The midfielder retired from Spain duty this summer after the country's disappointing last-16 exit at the World Cup. He will be 34 when his City contract expires at the end of June 2020, by which time he will have worn blue for a decade.

If Silva features for Pep Guardiola's side against Fulham on Saturday, it will be his 350th official competitive game for the club. He has won seven major trophies during his time in Manchester, as well as twice being named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
