URGENT ¥¥¥ Telefonica wins Spain's 2018-21 Champions League rights

Madrid, June 28, 2018 (AFP) - Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica said Thursday it had bought the rights to broadcast UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches in Spain from Mediapro for the next three seasons for just over one billion euros ($1.1 billion).

"The investment for the acquisition of the rights for each of the next three seasons of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League is 360 million euros for the rights," it said in a statement.
