Banega returns to Sevilla after single season with Inter
Sevilla has secured the return of Ever Banega - who left the Andalusian club on a free transfer last summer - after reaching an agreement with Inter.
Both clubs announced the reported €9-million move on Tuesday, with Banega slated to sign a three-year contract upon completing a medical.
"Inter and Sevilla have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Ever Banega to the Andalusian side," read a statement on the Italian club's website. "The agreement will become effective once the player has passed a medical and signed a contract with the club."
Banega spent the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons at Sevilla, where he won back-to-back Europa League titles.
Life at Inter started well enough, as Banega earned regular starts under Frank de Boer. As the Nerazzurri continued to swap managers, however, the 28-year-old lost consistency and eventually settled for a place on the substitutes' bench.
He finished last term with just 20 Serie A starts to his name.
