Atletico Madrid announces injuries to Moya, Gaitan, Gameiro
Atletico Madrid's season is being threatened by a trio of injuries.
On Thursday, Atleti announced Miguel Angel Moya, Nico Gaitan, and Kevin Gameiro suffered different injuries and didn't train with the group.
Specifically, Moya suffered a Grade 1-2 muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left thigh, Gaitan is suffering from arthritis in the metatarsal phalangeal joint of his left big toe, and, most notably, Gameiro is suffering from tendinitis in his left thigh's adductor. The Spanish 'keeper will undergo physical therapy and rehabilitation.
Atleti is closing in on Sevilla for third in La Liga, trailing the Andalusian club by only two points. Three clubs qualify for the group stage of the 2017-18 Champions League, while whoever finishes fourth must go through a play-off.
