Report: Atletico Madrid's Hernandez arrested over domestic abuse allegations
Lucas Hernandez and his girlfriend were reportedly arrested in the early hours of Friday morning over allegations of domestic abuse, resulting in a prosecutor requesting a mutual restraining order.
According to Marca, local police arrived at Hernandez's home amid claims the French centre-back had assaulted his girlfriend, and the Guardia Civil arrested the two. The French centre-back was apparently still detained when the female was later released.
Both Hernandez and his girlfriend allegedly had minor injuries, the former of whom didn't resist arrest and the latter of whom was transferred to hospital. A complaint was reportedly not submitted.
Per Marca's Alberto R. Barbero, Hernandez shared his version of events and claimed his partner fell accidentally after an argument between the pair at his house. The 20-year-old said he had been dining with his teammates before getting home late, leading to her striking his car, and the fall and minor injuries for which she was treated.
Hernandez, who is a product of Atletico Madrid's academy and debuted for Los Colchoneros' first team in 2014, is on the fringes of the club's squad having made only six appearances so far in the 2016-17 La Liga.
