Fiorentina announced the acquisition of Sebastian Cristoforo from Sevilla on Saturday, as the 23-year-old defensive midfielder joined La Viola on a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy.
Cristoforo, a product of Penarol, moved to Sevilla in 2013 where he made 21 appearances throughout the 2015-16 La Liga season. However, following the arrivals of Matias Kranevitter and Paulo Henrique Ganso, it became clear that the youngster would struggle to earn minutes under Jorge Sampaoli.
At Fiorentina, Cristoforo will join compatriot Matias Vecino.
