Racing Club's Lautaro Martinez confirms interest from Real Madrid, Valencia

Lautaro Martinez confessed on Sunday that he's a wanted man.

In conversation with Lorena Gonzalez of Marca, Martinez, who is employed by Racing Club de Avellaneda, admitted to receiving an offer from Real Madrid and also declared that he's on Valencia's radar.

"It is true that I received a rough draft of an offer from Real Madrid to play a year on loan, with a buyout option, but my buyout clause was a bit high at €8 million," Martinez said. "If they really want me, they'll have to pay that amount as Racing Avellaneda won't accept anything less. I'm constantly talking with the president of my club and I know that my coach is counting on me for the season."

Asked if he received any offers from Atletico Madrid and Valencia, Martinez replied: "I know nothing from Atletico but Valencia, after signing Rodrigo de Paul in the past, have been trying to buy three Racing youngsters: Fernando Valenzuela, Braian Mansilla, and myself."

According to ESPN FC, Real Madrid and Valencia's interest in Martinez came about at a youth tournament in Spain that took place last month where the teenager represented Argentina.

At 18 years of age, Martinez is one of the most promising youngsters to have emerged at Racing in recent memory, and boasts four goals to his name with the club from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
