Turan's agent: Barcelona exit rumours are 'false'
Arda Turan spent his first season at Barcelona unable to play for half of it and caught in the crossfire of the Blaugrana's presidential election, but that doesn't mean he plans on leaving the Camp Nou.
In conversation with Emre Sarigul of the Guardian, Turan's agent, Ahmet Bulut, poured cold water on reports that have suggested his client is set to leave Barcelona, insisting that the Turkish midfielder is staying put.
"The interest (in Arda) is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club," Bulut said.
It was reported on Monday that Barcelona is willing to sell Turan, even for two-thirds of the €40 million that the Blaugrana paid Atletico Madrid for the 29-year-old in 2015. His future was also questioned one week ago, when the Catalan club decided to exercise the buy-back clause for Denis Suarez, who was at Villarreal, for €3.25 million.
Upon joining Barcelona, Turan was forced to wait six months to make his debut for the Blaugrana because of the club's transfer ban. Once able to take the pitch, he made 18 La Liga appearances, half of which were as a substitute. Furthermore, he was a pawn in Barcelona's presidential election, as candidates campaigned on whether or not they would return the midfielder to Atleti.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly among the clubs monitoring Turan's situation.
