Polish star Krychowiak follows Emery to Paris Saint-Germain

Paris - Poland international midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has signed for French champion Paris Saint-Germain from Sevilla, both clubs confirmed on Sunday.

The 26-year-old, who started his career at Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, has spent the last two seasons at Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla.

He becomes PSG's second recruit of the summer after French international midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa from Nice, joining his former Sevilla coach Unai Emery, who is now at the helm of the Paris club.

"I am very proud to return to France and defend the colours of a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain," he told the club's official website.

"The opportunity to continue working with Unai Emery was obviously a major factor in my decision. I have joined Paris to live very strong emotions and with the ambition of winning as many trophies as possible. I am looking forward to this exciting next step in my career."

Emery's focus in Paris is to win the Champions League and Krychowiak was a key part of Sevilla winning back-to-back Europa League titles, beating Liverpool in the final in May.

Krychowiak was part of Poland's Euro 2016 squad that was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Portugal.
