Dani Alves claims Barcelona became 'too easy'

Dani Alves is looking for a bigger challenge at his new club.

Just days after confirming his departure from Barcelona, Alves - fresh off helping the club win its four La Liga title since his arrival in 2008 - admitted he's eager to face a new challenge after life with the Catalan giants became "too easy."

"What is certain is that I will not stay at Barcelona," Alves told Gazzetta dello Sport. "In life, we should explore options outside our comfort zone. Barcelona is an amazing club, but things were becoming too easy.

"I always have the desire for a new challenge. I hope that I can bring success like I did at Barcelona to another European club."

However, Alves' reported move to Juventus might offer little in the way of challenges considering the Italian outfit has won a record five straight Serie A titles.

Although Alves has spoken publicly about the 33-year-old joining Juve, the Serie A champs have yet to make an official announcement.

Confirmation may come after he completes his international duties with the Brazilian national team at the Copa America Centenario.
