Barcelona confirms Dani Alves has decided to leave club this summer
Barcelona stalwart Dani Alves has made a "personal decision" to leave the club this summer amid reports of a move to Italian champion Juventus.
Club secretary Roberto Fernandez confirmed the news at a conference on Thursday.
"This is personal decision that the club has to accept," said Fernandez. "All we can do is respect this decision."
Alves, 33, has played for the Blaugrana for the past eight seasons, winning six La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns with one of the greatest sides in the history of the game.
The Brazilian - who agreed to a contract extension last summer as Barcelona dealt with a transfer ban - has a deal that runs until June 2017. But he has the right to opt out and become a free agent before a reported June 5 deadline.
There's little worry about a replacement at the right-back position, with Aleix Vidal and Sergi Roberto suited for the role.
