Real Madrid experiencing worst La Liga title drought in 22 years

By virtue of Barcelona capturing a second consecutive La Liga title on Saturday, the Blaugrana's sixth league crown in the last eight seasons, bitter rival Real Madrid saw its own drought extend to its worst mark in over two decades.

Real Madrid's last domestic triumph came in 2011-12.

Of course, Los Blancos could still win the Champions League later this month when they meet Atletico Madrid, and a victory would signal the second time in three seasons the capital-based club hoisted Ol' Big Ears.
