Report: Everton close to signing Napoli's Allan for initial €25M fee
Everton have reached an agreement to sign Allan from Napoli for €25 million plus add-ons, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.
The 29-year-old has agreed to personal terms with the Merseyside club and will undergo a medical in the coming days.
Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti was trying to strengthen the Everton midfield after it struggled following last summer's departure of Idrissa Gueye to Paris Saint-Germain. Jean-Philippe Gbamin has also suffered a succession of injuries since he arrived from Mainz during the same transfer window.
Ancelotti was Allan's boss at Napoli for one-and-a-half years before the Italian tactician was fired in December 2019.
Allan started just 16 matches over the 2019-20 Serie A season - his lowest haul since moving from Udinese in 2015 - due to several minor injuries and the January signings of Diego Demme and Stanislav Lobotka. Napoli reportedly valued the Brazilian at €35 million but appear to be satisfied with the add-ons Everton tied into their offer.
Everton are also in talks to sign James Rodriguez, Romano understands. The 29-year-old Colombian attacker spent with 2019-20 term with Real Madrid after spending the previous two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich.
