Jack Butland stretchered off in Germany friendly
Jack Butland's opportunity in the absence of England's first-choice goalkeeper Joe Hart lasted just under 45 minutes, as he was withdrawn from Saturday's friendly in Germany with what appears to be a lower leg injury.
The Stoke City shot-stopper landed uncomfortably during a routine save and pulled up moments later after a lengthy clearance. He continued, however, until Toni Kroos caught him out at his near post from distance.
Fraser Forster entered the fray with the match nearing half-time. The Southampton man rounds out an impressive English trio vying for a spot between the sticks at Euro 2016.
England next faces the Netherlands at Wembley on Tuesday, and Forster will be expected to start due to the injuries suffered by Hart and Butland. Burnley's Tom Heaton was already drafted into the squad following the former's calf issue sustained on domestic duty last Sunday.
