English and French football supporters, long the most heated of rivals, came together as one on Tuesday in the wake of the horrific terrorist attacks that devastated Paris last week.

Some things are far, far more important than football.

Ahead of Tuesday's friendly match between England and France at Wembley Stadium, the crowd, many of them donning blue, white, and red face paint, garb, or both, came together for a rousing rendition of the French national anthem, La Marseillaise.

To say the moment was moving would be an understatement:

The national anthem was followed by a powerful moment of silence, as the players joined around the centre circle, many of them bowing their heads, in tribute to those who lost their lives in Friday's attacks.
