Champions League race tightens as Marseille edges Monaco

Marseille - Romain Alessandrini scored three minutes from time to lift Marseille to a 2-1 victory over Monaco on Sunday at the Stade Velodrome.
With both clubs battling for the final Champions League spot in Ligue 1, Sunday's game had massive implications and Marseille moves closer to a Champions League berth, while Monaco remains in third place on 65 points.
The visitors had the upper hand early and struck for the opening salvo in the first minute of play through a goal from Joao Moutinho.
Monaco held the lead until the 79th minute when Andre Ayew hit for an equalizer before Alessandrini buried the winner to hand an important three points to Marseille.
