Victor Valdes will not join AS Monaco after failing to pass medical

After deciding against renewing his contract with Barcelona, Victor Valdes is looking for a new club to kick off the next chapter of his career.

One club he won't be joining, however, is AS Monaco.

On Wednesday, the club's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev announced that Valdes, who is still recovering from surgery to repair the torn cruciate anterior ligament in his right knee, failed his medical and will not be joining the team.

While this is purely speculation, the announcement leads one to believe that Valdes' recovery isn't going as planned. The Spanish keeper picked up the injury during Barcelona's 3-0 win over Celta Vigo in March, and after going under the knife almost instantly, was given a recovery time of seven months.
