Report: Marseille's Gignac threatens to sue Burger King over ad poking fun at his weight
Andre-Pierre Gignac has heard all of the jokes before.
Derided throughout much of his career for his sturdy physique, the Marseille striker has long been the subject of jeers from opposing fans who attempted to touch on his weight as a means of throwing off his game.
Paris Saint-Germain supporters have been the most creative to date, with their 'Big Mac for Gignac' chant becoming quite popular among the club's faithful.
Attempting to take another shot at the French market, Burger King have tried to put their own spin on the phrase as part of their relaunch in the country.
To coincide with the opening of their second Marseille-based location earlier this week, this full-page advertisement was taken out in local newspapers:
On n'a jamais été bons sur les rimes. Notre truc, c'est le burger. pic.twitter.com/gUiuf71A9c

All fun and games, right?
Er, not so fast.
Gignac, who is Marseille's leading scorer with 14 goals on the season, is reportedly upset by the jibe, threatening legal action against the fast food chain.
Perhaps branding one of the best strikers in Ligue 1 as a fat burger-lover wasn't the greatest marketing approach. Even if it's true.
