Japan keeper Eiji Kawashima signs for Strasbourg
Strasbourg, France, Aug 29, 2018 (AFP) - Japanese international goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima has signed a one-year deal with French top flight side Racing Strasbourg, the club said Wednesday.
Kawashima, who has won 88 caps, has had spells in Belgium with Lierse and Standard Liege as well as Dundee United in Scotland.
He also spent two seasons in France with Metz, Strasbourg's northern neighbours, but they were relegated last term.
The veteran will provide cover for Belgian Matz Sels, signed from Newcastle.
"I am happy and proud to sign for Racing," said Kawashima.
