Report: Tottenham closing in on PSG's Aurier, Estudiantes' Foyth
Tottenham's prepared to ramp up its involvement on the transfer market with a pair of new additions following a relatively quiet summer.
The north London side is reportedly close to reinforcing its defence with the addition of Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Juan Foyth from Argentine outfit Estudiantes, a source told Jonathan Johnson of ESPN FC.
Aurier is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Spurs as long as he's able to prove he successfully appealed a two-month prison sentence for attacking a police officer.
If he does make the move, PSG will reportedly collect a substantial transfer fee of around €25 million for the 24-year-old.
Teams who inquired about Aurier's availability earlier this summer apparently withdrew their interest amid his ongoing efforts to overturn the court's decision. It's believed that he would have already been sold if it wasn't for the length of the appeal process, since PSG informed him earlier this summer of the club's intention to sell him.
Aurier's possible arrival would fill the void left by Kyle Walker, who was sold to Manchester City last month. However, the right-back would also likely cut into Kieran Trippier's playing time.

Meanwhile, Tottenham is expected to beat PSG for the right to Foyth, a promising Argentine who was reportedly influenced to join the Premier League club after speaking with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
While Tottenham hopes to complete both deals by the end of the transfer window later in August, neither is expected to be announced "imminently," Johnson adds.
