Monaco ultras criticise Mbappe amid links to PSG
The situation at AS Monaco is becoming more tense by the day as uncertainty over Kylain Mbappe's future grows.
The club's ultras are seemingly fed up with the daily updates linking the star with a transfer, as the latest report suggests Ligue1 rival Paris Saint-Germain is in talks with Monaco about a potential loan agreement with an option to buy Mbappe next summer for a fee worth €140 million.
It was a revelation that triggered a response from the supporters group, Ultras Monaco 1994, who issued a statement late Monday criticising the situation, the astronomical figures associated with his possible sale, and his perceived greed during reported negotiations with Monaco to renew his contract.

The statement, as translated by Ed Aarons of the Guardian, read: "In recent times we have witnessed with astonishment and indignation the figures quoted by the media about the transfer of Mbappé, but also about the salary to renew his contract with our club.
"We think that no player is worth so many million of euros. We believe football is for everyone and values such as the love of the shirt and respect for the club where you been your career. We can not accept that one of our players has acted in that way and demand such figures, without having disputed more than a few dozen matches at professional level.

The statement continued with the group urging Monaco officials to bring the saga to an end, but warned against strengthening the club's biggest rival in France's top flight, PSG.
"We would like to remind Kylian Mbappe and his clan that nothing and nobody is above the institution of AS Monaco FC. We therefore strongly hope that our representatives will take the necessary decision to close this case if these requirements are confirmed while taking into consideration that it is essential not to strengthen the competition for the title."
Parting ways with the promising young forward isn't essential from a financial standpoint, considering Monaco has already collected over €150 million in sales this summer following breakout seasons for a number of players when the team won the league last term.
Yet, the matter apparently remains undecided following Mbappe's exclusion from Monaco's last two matches because, as manager Leonardo Jardim explained, the team preferred to "protect him" amid the flurry of speculation that is seemingly impacting the teenager.
