Hugo Ekitike joined Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday after a transfer to nouveau-riche Newcastle United reportedly collapsed in June.
The Stade de Reims striker's Premier League move broke down due to his agent's demands, according to BBC Sport's Alistair Magowan. However, PSG haven't been scuppered in their pursuit, signing Ekitike on loan with an option to buy.
The potential fee agreed between PSG and Reims is around €30 million plus add-ons, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.
Ekitike, 20, made his professional debut in October 2020 and has since scored 11 goals over 28 appearances in all competitions for Reims. He also spent six months on loan at Danish club Vejle BK starting in January 2021, scoring three goals in 11 outings.
