Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier is trying his hand at fortune telling, and the Belgian's crystal ball does not see Unai Emery on the touchline for the capital club next season.

Meunier, whose frustrations at playing second fiddle to Dani Alves have hardly been a secret, didn't mince words when assessing both his future at PSG and that of his embattled manager.

"I'm waiting because a lot of things, including the coach, will change," Meunier offered, courtesy of L'Equipe.

Emery has come under fire for PSG's limp Champions League last-16 performance against Real Madrid, in which the Basque boss' tactics and squad selection were the subject of criticism.

The three-time Europa League winner with Sevilla was lured to the Parc des Princes to get PSG over the continental hump, but with the Ligue 1 leader no nearer to Champions League glory than during Laurent Blanc's reign, prospective successors like Massimiliano Allegri, Antonio Conte, and Mauricio Pochettino have been linked with the club.

That appears fine by Meunier, who in his second season with the club has struggled to secure first-choice duties, platooning last campaign with Serge Aurier before summer signing Alves snatched the spot this term.

"I am no longer 18; I am 26, I am in full possession of my means," Meunier added. "I need to assert myself in a club. I need to show what I can do. The club knows my position."

Meunier's comments piggyback earlier remarks from Angel Di Maria that hint at widespread change at the club in the summer. "It was a big blow, we spent €400 million for new players," Di Maria said after the second-leg loss to Real Madrid. "Last year we couldn't achieve it, but there will be great changes next season."
