Previous rank: 2nd

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
187 5 10 13 1st 10th

Verstappen's chances at a fifth drivers' title this season are all but gone, but no one has been able to pull out awe-inspiring drives like the reigning champion.

2. George Russell, Mercedes

Previous rank: 3rd

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
172 6 11 13 1st 11th

Russell is driving like he's ready for championship-caliber machinery. No non-McLaren pilot has more podiums or top-five finishes this season.

3. Oscar Piastri, McLaren

Previous rank: 1st

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
284 12 13 14 1st   9th

Piastri has been the most consistent driver on the grid, but he falls a few spots after obtaining no poles and only one win in his last five races.

4. Charles Leclerc, Ferrari

Previous rank: 4th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
151 5 9 12 2nd 14th

Silverstone is the only blemish on a brilliant recent run of form from Leclerc, who is also dominating Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari head-to-head matchups.

5. Lando Norris, McLaren

Previous rank: 5th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
275 12 13 13 1st 4th

Norris has been the better of the two McLaren drivers as of late. Just a few costly mistakes keep him from being on top of the drivers' standings.

6. Alex Albon, Williams

Previous rank: 7th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
54 0 3 9 5th 15th

Albon has not only planted his flag as Williams' No. 1, but he's also clearly been one of the strongest drivers this year.

7. Pierre Gasly, Alpine

Previous rank: 12th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
20 0 0 4 6th 19th

Although the Alpine has been a handful, you wouldn't be able to tell from watching Gasly, who's made Q3 seven times and picked up valuable points.

8. Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin

Previous rank: 14th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
26 0 1 5 5th 17th

The second stage of this season so far has been a renaissance for Alonso. He picked up points in five of his last six races.

9. Nico Hulkenberg, Sauber

Previous rank: 16th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
37 1 2 5 3rd 16th

The fairy-tale season continues for Hulkenberg, who scored his first-ever podium and ranks ninth in the drivers' standings.

10. Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari

Previous rank: 6th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
109 0 5 12 4th 12th

Hamilton looked to have found a sweet spot at the beginning of the European stretch of the calendar, but he's now trending toward disaster. His Ferrari debut hasn't gone as planned.

11. Isack Hadjar, Racing Bulls

Previous rank: 10th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
22 0 0 5 6th 20th

Almost nobody would have pegged Hadjar as F1's top rookie before the season, yet that's where he stands after 14 races.

12. Gabriel Bortoleto, Sauber

Previous rank: 18th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
14 0 0 3 6th 19th

The Brazilian rookie has been coming on superbly of late, and he's outqualified his teammate in eight races.

13. Carlos Sainz, Williams

Previous rank: 9th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
16 0 0 6 8th 18th

It's been a rather anonymous debut year at Williams for the Spaniard, who many expected would outperform Albon. The opposite scenario has unfolded so far.

14. Esteban Ocon, Haas

Previous rank: 11th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
27 0 1 5 5th 18th

Ocon has been a perfect veteran presence for Haas, accounting for 27 of the team's 35 points.

15. Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes

Previous rank: 8th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
64 1 2 7 3rd 18th

The summer break arrived at a good time for the 18-year-old. Antonelli scored 16 points over his last eight races, and 15 of them came at one race.

16. Oliver Bearman, Haas

Previous rank: 15th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
8 0 0 3 8th 17th

Bearman's put up a good fight in qualifying against Ocon (7-7), but he's been unlucky in the points department; he's finished 11th four times already.

17. Liam Lawson, Racing Bulls

Previous rank: 20th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
20 0 0 4 6th 17th

A pivot to Racing Bulls was the best thing for Lawson, who made Q3 and picked up points in three of his last four races.

18. Lance Stroll, Aston Martin

Previous rank: 17th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
26 0 0 4 6th 20th

For as much flack as Stroll gets, he's already exceeded most people's expectations. He and Alonso have each scored 26 points.

19. Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull

Previous rank: 13th

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
10 0 0 3 9th 17th

Seven straight races without points have taught Tsunoda the painful lesson that Red Bull's second seat isn't a promotion - it's the kiss of death.

20. Franco Colapinto, Alpine

Previous rank: NA

Points Podiums Top 5 Top 10 Best Finish Worst Finish
0 0 0 0 13th 19th

Swapping out Jack Doohan for Colapinto still hasn't paid dividends for Alpine.
