Lando Norris: Wins Miami Grand Prix

McLaren driver Norris added his name to the list of Formula 1 race winners with a sensational breakthrough victory in Sunday's Miami Grand Prix, overhauling Red Bull rival Max Verstappen to take the chequered flag, Formula1.com reports.

Analysis:

Norris was P6 after a slow start to the race. The McLaren star would begin his battle toward the front after the chaotic first lap. Norris would inherit the lead on lap 24 when Verstappen would pit for the first time of the day. The long opening stint would be a stroke of luck as a lap 28 accident would bring out the safety car and allow Norris to pit from the lead and retake it. His fresher tires and great pace would be all the difference and he'd stretch out to a 7.6-second victory over Verstappen. It was the McLaren star's first-career Formula 1 win.
