Brazil legend Ronaldo hospitalized with pneumonia
Brazilian World Cup winner Ronaldo was admitted to intensive care in Ibiza, Spain, after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
The 41-year-old updated the situation on Twitter with a message in Portuguese, something BBC Sport later confirmed. According to the BBC, Ronaldo fell ill on Friday and is hoping to be discharged Monday.
A spokesperson for the Can Misses Hospital in the popular island vacation destination did not provide any information, according to the BBC.
One of world football's most revered stars, Ronaldo bagged 62 goals for Brazil, including both in the country's 2-0 World Cup final victory over Germany in 2002. The Rio de Janeiro-born forward also had a decorated club career in Europe with PSV, Barcelona, Inter, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, snatching a slew of trophies to go with two Ballon d'Or awards and several other individual honors.
