Barcelona ship Aleix Vidal back to Sevilla for €8.5M

One Vidal in, one Vidal out.

A day after announcing they had brought in Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich, Barcelona revealed Saturday they have sold Aleix Vidal to Sevilla for an initial €8.5-million fee, with an extra €2 million possible in variables.

The move returns Vidal to his former club, as the 28-year-old right-back spent the 2014-15 season with Sevilla before joining the Blaugrana in June 2015.

In three seasons with Barcelona, Vidal appeared in 49 games, operating in a variety of positions along the right flank. He helped the club win eight titles during his three seasons at the Camp Nou, including two La Liga crowns and three Copa del Reys.

Vidal was also a member of the Sevilla side that won the Europa League in 2015, defeating Ukrainian outfit Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
