Adnan Januzaj didn't embrace Borussia Dortmund, says Thomas Tuchel
Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel suggests Adnan Januzaj's disappointing loan spell at the Bundesliga side failed because of the youngster's unwillingness to adapt to life with the German team.
Januzaj joined Dortmund during the summer when Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal viewed him as surplus heading into the Premier League season.
But his season-long loan spell with the German team was cut short when he was recalled in January, with Tuchel later doubting the 20-year-old's commitment and claiming Januzaj's heart never left Manchester.
"A part of him was always still in Manchester and we just couldn't help him cut this umbilical cord," Tuchel admitted to FourFourTwo.
"He didn't wholly embrace Borussia. He always compared everything with how it had been at United."
Januzaj only managed to make 12 appearances - six as a substitute - with Dortmund.
Since returning to Old Trafford, Januzaj's lone appearance came when Van Gaal brought him on as a substitute with five minutes remaining against Southampton on Jan. 23.
