Southampton's Forster returns from injury to start for under-21s
Fraser Forster got his first start between the pipes since injuring his knee in March during Southampton's under-21 match against Chelsea on Wednesday.
The England international is edging closer to appearing in Ronald Koeman's first team after being sidelined for 291 days with a patellar tendon injury.
Forster suffered the injury during a match against Burnley on March 21 when he slipped during a clearance attempt and immediately called for assistance.
During his absence, the Saints have been forced to deploy a series of goalkeepers. Maarten Stekelenburg has been the team's preferred choice, while Paulo Gazzaniga and Kelvin Davis have also seen time between the sticks.
Forster's return should see the 27-year-old jump right back into the starter's role.
Southampton has not announced a specific date for his return to the first team.
