Liverpool's Mignolet, Lovren back in training, available for Leicester City match
Liverpool received some positive news on the injury front Thursday, as manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that both goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and defender Dejan Lovren are back in full training, and will be available for the Reds' Boxing Day clash against league leader Leicester City at Anfield.
"Dejan Lovren is back in training. He’s trained now for two days in a row completely normally with the team. He is available for Saturday," Klopp said.
"Simon is back and trained normally today and will train normally tomorrow."
Mignolet missed Liverpool's 3-0 loss to Watford last week with a hamstring injury, though Klopp said at the time the decision to keep him out - and put Adam Bodgan between the sticks - was just a precautionary measure.
Lovren, meanwhile, was stretchered off in Liverpool's 2-2 draw against West Brom earlier this month after sustaining what seemed at the time to be a far more serious knee injury.
His return, coupled with the absence of Martin Skrtel - who is dealing with a hamstring problem - will likely see the Croatian slot directly back into the starting lineup alongside Mamadou Sakho in central defence.
