Arsene Wenger denies reports linking Mesut Ozil with a move away from Arsenal
Arsene Wenger denied baseless claims linking midfielder Mesut Ozil with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.
The Arsenal manager's denial follows comments from a former Besiktas board member, Erol Kaynar, about a meeting between the Turkish club and Ozil's agent regarding a possible move to the Super Lig.
Wenger, however, quickly shot down any suggestions linking Ozil, who is of Turkish decent, with a transfer.
"He is completely committed to the club. He is focused on getting results," Wenger told reporters ahead of their encounter with Liverpool on Monday.
Although Ozil has struggled for the most part since his £42.5-million transfer from Real Madrid in 2013, the German international flourished during Arsenal's first league win of the season when they beat Crystal Palace.
