Manchester United, Phil Jones agree to contract extension through 2019

Phil Jones - and his many wonderful facial expressions - is staying at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future, as Manchester United announced Monday that the defender has signed a contract extension with the club.
The 23-year-old - who has developed into an important utility member of the Red Devils' squad - expressed his enthusiasm with the agreement:
The English centre-back, who joined the club from Blackburn for £16 million in 2011, endured a series of niggling injuries in 2014-15, making 22 Premier League appearances.
His previous contract was set to expire at the end of 2015-16, which would have allowed another club to sign him for free had United not brokered a new agreement.
