A failure to win a regular spot in Chelsea's first team could see John Obi Mikel's time at Stamford Bridge come to an end.
The midfielder is reportedly eager to leave Chelsea, and has been linked with a move to Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.
Chelsea, however, say Mikel remains in their plans for the upcoming season, when they attempt to defend their Premier League title, according to Sky Sports.
Mikel is one of the clubs longest-serving players after arriving at the club in 2006, and has gone on to make 224 appearances for the Blues. But the arrivals of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas have seen him play a limited role over the past two seasons.
The Nigerian international has only managed to start 17 matches over the past two seasons.
