Liverpool's Kolo Toure signs contract extension
Kolo Toure isn't leaving Liverpool just yet.
Tuesday saw Toure put pen to paper on a contract extension that will surely prove to be polarizing among the Merseyside club's supporters.
According to the Guardian, Toure, who arrived at Anfield in July 2013 from Manchester City and would have been out of contract this summer, signed a one-year extension.
While many supporters will be sure to criticise the move due to Toure's peripheral role under manager Brendan Rodgers - he only started seven Premier League matches last season - the extension is likely aimed at providing a veteran presence to a club with a young backline.
"Liverpool is a great club for me to (stay) at," Toure said. "Liverpool is going to be massive. I love Premier League football and I played all my years here. If I can finish here it would be great."
