Frank Lampard will take the pitch with the captain's armband Sunday, as Manchester City's season finale versus Southampton will mark the end of his legendary era in the Premier League.
Lampard is set to cross the Atlantic Ocean at the end of the season and join nascent Major League Soccer side New York City FC, who will reportedly be paying the iconic midfielder at least $6 million per season.
Of course, there's always the possibility of Lampard returning to the Premier League once his reported two-year contract in the Big Apple comes to a close. However, at 36 years of age, it's likely his upcoming chapter in the Bronx will be the last of his professional career.
