Eden Hazard named Premier League Player of the Year
Another individual honour was bestowed upon Eden Hazard on Friday, as he was named the Premier League Player of the Year.
Hazard, who has already been named the PFA Player of the Year and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year, established himself as the engine of Chelsea's success in the Premier League this season, as he holds 14 goals and eight assists to his name, including the goal that secured the title for his side versus Crystal Palace in early May.
He also ranks among the top in a number of categories, leading the Premier League in dribbles per game (4.6), ranking fourth in key passes per game (2.5), and third in fouled per game (3) and dispossessed per game.
Should Hazard feature in Chelsea's season finale versus Sunderland on Sunday, he'll have appeared in all 38 league fixtures this season. However, Jose Mourinho fears that the 24-year-old attacking midfielder will be unable to complete his perfect run after reacting badly to dental surgery, saying on Friday: "His mouth is in trouble. I don't know if he can (play)."
