Arsenal's Welbeck ruled out of Manchester United match
Danny Welbeck won't be suiting up against his former team Manchester United after failing to overcome a knee injury.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hinted Thursday that the England international had a chance to make an appearance, but Welbeck's failure to pass a late fitness test will keep him out of Sunday's contest.
"He's short a fraction but is not far away. I would love to have him available but we (may) have to do it without him," Wenger told reporters.
Welbeck has not made an appearance for the club since April 26 when Arsenal hosted Chelsea.
It's been a frustrating first season for Welbeck since joining the club during the summer transfer window. Injuries have hampered him throughout the campaign, limiting him to just four goals during 27 Premier League appearances.
