Robin van Persie returns during Manchester United's loss to Everton

Robin van Persie appeared in his first match in more than two months Saturday during Manchester United's 3-0 loss to Everton.
The Dutch striker, however, had virtually no impact on the match as manager Louis van Gaal elected to use him in the dying minutes with the match all-but decided.
Van Persie was introduced in the 88th minute to replace Wayne Rooney.
Although Radamel Falcao got the start up front, the Colombian striker's continued struggles should see van Persie play a bigger role in the first team as the season winds down.
It was van Persie's first appearance after suffering an ankle injury during United's 2-1 loss to Swansea City on Feb. 21.
