British sprinter challenges Arsenal's Walcott and Bellerin to £30K race
British sprinter Richard Kilty is willing to put his reputation on the line after challenging a pair of the Premier League's fastest players to a race.
The European indoor champion challenged Arsenal speedsters Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin to a race and is willing to pay £30,000 if he loses to either one.
media claiming @HectorBellerin can run 4.42 over 40m. Absolutely no way. Are these journalists complete morons!

I will put £30,000 on the line to race @HectorBellerin & @theowalcott any sprint distance, any time, any place, anywhere

The race will be over very quick. So if they put their money down I will gladly show everyone they can not sprint as fast as the media claim

While Walcott has long been recognised as one of the Premier League's fastest players since his arrival at Arsenal in 2006. Bellerin, however, holds the club honours after a feature in The Telegraph outlining the young Spanish right backs rise through the team's youth camp and his victory against Walcott.
While Kilty, who appears annoyed by the praise the two players receive, is willing to put the money on the line, it's likely less of a burden for Walcott or Bellerin to lose such an amount considering the astronomical wages footballer's earn compared to those in athletics.
Hopefully the pair accept Kilty's challenge and the race is made public, with proceeds going to a charity.
