Lennon scores late winner as Everton beats QPR 2-1
LONDON (AP) ?Aaron Lennon scored a late winner as Everton beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 Sunday to move nine points clear of the Premier League relegation zone and damage the hosts' own survival hopes.
?Seamus Coleman's excellent finish at Loftus Road put Everton ahead in the 18th minute before substitute Eduardo Vargas slammed home an equalizer in the 65th.
?QPR pressed for a winner but Lennon provided a sucker-punch 13 minutes from time. Coleman's cross was half-cleared but the ball fell straight to Lennon who side-footed home.
Lennon's first goal for the Toffees gave Everton a much-needed victory that leaves QPR four points adrift of safety.
?It was QPR's fifth straight defeat since Chris Ramsey was confirmed as permanent manager. QPR's next two matches are at fellow strugglers West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa.
